Not wishing to start a flame war (!) but the LR alternative that seems to get most mentions is Capture One I think. With DxO Essential Bundle, combine DxO FilmPack and DxO ViewPoint with DxO PhotoLab and take advantage of a totally integrated workflow that is 100 compatible with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 199.99 or 50 x4 months 303. But LR now does much more of this than it did originally and the newer Fuji's incorporate corrections anyhow. So far they are maintaining the one-off purchase price for LR but clearly that could change in the future (though I hope not personally)ĭxO's particular "claim to fame" is, I believe, their options for correcting lens distortions. Also many people are unhappy with the way Adobe are moving to a subscription model. DxO offers a free trial service to allow consumers to better decide whether to buy the companys products. I also use an iPhone/iPad app called Mosaic Archive which automatically syncs my best/favourite images from LR.įor me personally that combination makes it hard to beat. For example I have a MIDI Controller setup to work with LR. That could be as simple as presets but there are other aspects.
Plus, on top of those, it's easily the best when it comes to extending it's capabilities through various add-ons.
